Mark Garner

Executive Vice President of Global FAST Channels, A+E Global Media

Mark Garner is Executive Vice President, Head of GLOBAL FAST at A+E Global Media. Mark’s focus is on the proliferation and monetization of A+E Global Media’s vast offering of owned and original content through partnerships with traditional and emerging content distribution platforms.  He is also charged with optimizing A+E Global Media’s creative IP through new business initiatives including FAST channel development and global expansion.  To date, A+E Global Media has almost 70 FAST channels in market around the world.

Prior to joining A+E Global Media, Mark worked as an executive at several start-up ventures, including a satellite broadcast network based in Johannesburg, South Africa where he successfully built the network’s distribution in 22 sub-Saharan countries. Before his time in South Africa, he led business development efforts for a direct-to-consumer, online automotive sales venture. Mark has also held positions at Lifetime Entertainment Services, MTV Networks and Pacific Bell (now AT&T) in sales, marketing and product management.

Mark currently serves on the boards of AdGood (a not-for-profit media solutions organization), MIPCOM’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee, and The Digital Entertainment Group (DEG).  Prior board experience includes The Black News Channel (BNC) and the South Orange Performing Arts Center. Mark has been active serving in industry associations throughout his career, serving as a board member of CTAM (the Cable Television Association of Marketing). Early in his career he chaired and served on the executive committee of NAMIC, the media industry’s leading organization for advocacy on behalf of people of color.

Mark earned his B.A. in Economics and Sociology from Stanford University. Born in Detroit and raised in the New York metropolitan area, he now resides in South Orange, New Jersey with his family.
