Ken Sugiura is an award-winning sports columnist for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Writing stories about the people, teams and events of sports in Atlanta and the state of Georgia, he was named Georgia sportswriter of the year in 2023 and 2025 by the National Sports Media Association and also was honored in 2026 by the Atlanta Press Club for excellence in sports journalism. Ken has written for the AJC since 1998, covering a variety of beats in sports and news before becoming a columnist in 2023. A graduate of the University of Michigan and a native of suburban Chicago, he lives in the Tucker area with his wife, Robyn, their three children and two dogs. He is always eager for suggestions for columns.
