Tarana Harris Mayes is a Peabody and Emmy® Award-winning producer, strategist, creator, and veteran of the entertainment, public relations, and media industries.
Seen by millions across broadcast and digital platforms, Tarana’s professional body of work transcends genre, audience, and format to yield best-in-class brand and non-fiction storytelling. Her experience in the trenches of unscripted television includes producing live, in studio and on location for productions, special events and networks such as ABC News, Good Morning America, World News, Nightline, The Oprah Winfrey Show, PBS, BET, TV One, and Bravo. Tarana also includes media relations and communications within her arsenal of storytelling expertise. As the publicist for the School of Film and Television at Savannah College of Art and Design, she led public relations for SCAD’s signature events.
On the heels of leading advertising partnerships and engagement at one of the largest Spanish-language digital platforms in the U.S., Tarana launched Capacity Media, a multi-platform production company. Through Capacity Media, Tarana and her team consult on branded content, podcasts, video production, and audience engagement, and are producing her first film, a premium sports documentary.
