Rene Barasoain is a Cuban American media, marketing, and growth strategist with over 20 years of experience helping brands unlock the full potential of their ROI through consumer insights and innovation.

He is the Chief Revenue Officer and Co-Founder of Videotape, a next-generation ad testing and insights platform that helps brands understand not only which creative performs best — but why. By combining high-speed qualitative feedback with structured AI analysis at scale, Videotape empowers marketers to make faster, smarter, and more culturally relevant creative and campaign decisions.

Previously, Rene spent five years at Meta, where he was recruited to launch and lead the company’s U.S. Multicultural advertising strategy across Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. As head of that team, he spearheaded go-to-market initiatives across key verticals and developed Meta’s first-ever multicultural audience segmentation framework — enabling advertisers to reach and engage diverse consumer segments across their platforms more effectively.

Before Meta, Rene spent a decade at Univision Communications, where he worked with some of the world’s most iconic brands to design and execute integrated, insights-driven campaigns tailored to the U.S. Hispanic market.

In 2019, he founded Hyperfocus ROI and Hyperlytics — strategic consultancies that advise brands on cross-platform media, measurement, and growth strategy. Rene is also a frequent speaker on marketing effectiveness, consumer behavior, and the evolving dynamics of audience targeting.

Rene serves on the University of Miami’s, Herbert School of Business marketing advisory board. 

He holds degrees in Marketing and International Business from Florida State University’s College of Business.
