Marketing and Communications: Shaping the Cultural Narrative
Cynthia Morgan Jenkins is an entertainment, advertising, and media executive with extensive experience in the media industry. She fosters relationships that expand opportunities for digital content and diverse media partners. She brings deep expertise in media negotiation across local, national, and international scales.
Recognized early in her career for her ability to build authentic relationships with key decision-makers, Cynthia helped launch the nation’s first Hip-Hop radio station, HOT 97, which catapulted the multi-billion-dollar rap industry that is now mainstream Hip Hop. She later expanded her career into print, digital, and cable at BET Networks, where she rose to the position of Sales Director, managing teams across New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. At the height of the social justice movement, Cynthia transitioned to agency leadership—first at Dentsu as Vice President of Economic Development and now at WPP Media, where she is a Managing Partner in Investment, leading Supplier Diversity, and contributes to advancing growth audiences in digital audio.
A sought-after thought leader, Cynthia has spoken at notable events, including Advertising Week, Google’s Black & Latinx Publishers Summit, the Unstereotype Alliance Global Summit at the United Nations, the US Black Chambers’ NABOB Urban Radio Conference, and Portada’s Multicultural Marketing Summit. She has also moderated panels for AIMM and BECA, and engages actively in industry forums such as AdColor, ANA Media, AfroTech, Blackweek, IAB, and NewFronts.
Cynthia is a 2025 Cynopsis Top Women in Media honoree and was also recognized and selected for WPP’s Maestro Americas and Walk the Talk Women’s Senior Leadership programs. Dedicated to community service, Cynthia is a life member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, The Links, Incorporated, and a tenured life member of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., where she is a former Mother of the Year. Beyond her professional achievements, she treasures time with her family and their dog, Leroy.
